The world's cities often get a bad reputation for being ugly places. Overcrowding, heavy traffic, lack of planning, and large expanses of concrete aren't often the most pleasing things to look at. But even the ugliest of cities have beauty hidden within them, so we wondered what would make these ugly cities look appealing again.
We decided to look at some of the cities deemed 'ugly' through the eyes of some of the most iconic artists in history, to see if lending their style to certain cities could turn them into works of art.
