In October 2015 we quit our jobs in London and set off on an epic journey around the world: with a drone!
After selling everything we owned, we flew to Russia and boarded the Trans-Siberian railway all the way to Beijing, crossing Russia, Siberia, Mongolia and China.
Sadly, we lost our first drone in Lake Baikal when it took a turn for the worst and sank to the bottom: about 1,600 meters deep!
Then we travelled through Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Papua, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar.
In every country we help to empower kids from underserved communities teaching them art, photography and film-making: and how to be a drone pilot! We also work on eco-projects such as marine conservation and helping to improve the lives of elephants exploited by tourism.
We have climbed mountains, lived with Mongolian nomads, crossed the Gobi desert on horseback, ridden rapids on bamboo rafts (dislocating a shoulder!) and lived on a remote tropical island in West Papua. We have been kissed by elephants, seen the famous Birds of Paradise, and the sun rise at Borobudur, Angkor Wat, and Bagan: three of the most important Buddhist sites in the world. We have swum with manta rays and sharks, trained as professional PADI scuba Dive Masters, showered in waterfalls and even played with monkeys: who are cheeky enough to steal your sunglasses if you don't hold onto them for dear life!
We are now on our third drone after upgrading to a DJI Phantom 3, which takes amazing still images and video!
Our next stop is India. Then we plan to circumnavigate the world via Australia, the pacific islands, North and South America, and Africa. So far we have worked with over 400 kids and will soon increase this number into the 1,000s!
