"I believe that watercolor is the most challenging technique of all," Beccari explained to Bored Panda about why he has chosen this medium. "It is rebellious, you cannot control it totally. In addition, it requires a lot of self-discipline, [and cultivating it through art] helps me indirectly in other aspects of my life as well."
Although the humble Brazilian hasn't had any artistic academic training, he has been taking various painting courses since he was a kid. That being said, he still considers water the most difficult thing to paint. "I focus [my work] on water for the sake of overcoming [my artistic shortcoming]. On the other hand, it is also a way of reminding myself that you cannot control most things. I think that water represents this; we have to deal with it instead of trying to master it. 'Let the water be your guide,' Bruce Lee said."
If you want to acquire Beccari's paintings, I've got bad news. He doesn't sell them. "My only source of income is teaching," he explained, clarifying that his artistic efforts are his vacation. His escape. "Also, in the context of the global pandemic, my teaching has intensified a lot, and I haven't been able to get more time to paint. I hope to get back to painting soon."
