In this time of crisis, many artists as myself are going to meet an uncertain future. We loose exhibition opportunities as galleries are closing and museums too. Projects are delayed, and our part-time jobs are vulnerable also. Nevertheless, I think we do an essential role for the society around us. I was laying one sleepless night thinking of what to do and decided to publish a virtual exhibition of my textile art. I want to try this way of exhibiting and see if it is working and also inspire/help my colleagues in showing their work online.
The show is set up with my newest Jacquard woven works as well some pieces made together with my good friend and artist colleague Karina N. Presttun.
Jacquard weaving is a way of constructing and then weaving textile art on an industrial loom. The preparation is time consuming digital work where the artist has to work with an image for many hours as well with construction of textile.
I have been working with this for the last 9 years.
Hopefully, you enjoy the exhibition: http://kristina-aas.com/virtual-exhibition
