Virtual Maternity Session During Quarantine

My best friend is pregnant with her first baby, and due to Covid19 and the stay home order, she had to cancel her baby shower which she already had all planned, along with her maternity session to come. She was feeling down and I wanted to cheer her up! I am a professional photographer and I saw some people are doing Facetime shoots where they do a shoot over Facetime, and I thought, why not do one for her! Then we took it a step further by allowing her to use my studio and my camera so that she can have high quality images to keep forever. We did a virtual session and it came out amazing!

I left the maternity dresses from Flutter Dress designs and my camera days ahead, wiped everything down, and gave her the keybox code so they can let themselves in. I instructed her husband how and where to shoot, I posed Alma, all from my computer at home. I also left my tripod there for them so that they can get some together using the self timer.

It felt amazing to be creative again and she loves them! I am so happy so has these photos to document a time she has been waiting for for so long.

Today has been the most fun I have had in the last few weeks. My bestie, Marivel Espinoza who owns Picture Marvelous Photography decided to turn things around a bit for me and offered to do a virtual maternity photoshoot for Diego and I (mostly me 😉) here is what she did...

She gave us the code to her studio and let me use her dresses - Flutter Dresses (she makes these beautiful dresses!) She left her camera and dresses for us in advance and we called her through Skype once we got there. She then instructed us through the whole shoot! Diego took all the pictures of just me and then he used the tripod with timer to take the ones of us together. How cool is that?! 😆 I am so thankful to her for this and how beautiful these pictures turned out! Diego Lima did really good with her instructions! You might see him as a second shooter for her in the future 🤣. Thanks again Mari! We are beyond grateful 🙏🏽♥️"
