While we may not know much about the artist themselves, we can attempt to dissect their characters to understand why they are effective. In this instance, we can't see an entire spectrum of the character's personality from a single image; however, Rinotuna does a great job at defining distinctive features that let us see whether this character is more on the quirky, funny side, or rather stoic, thus giving them a unique personality.
From just this one image, we can almost perceive their motivations and imagine how they might develop within a story. Rinotuna captures their expressions in a way that enables us to envision various scenarios for each character effortlessly.
Furthermore, Rinotuna incorporates a lot of details, and the more closely you examine the image, the more complex both the character and the situation appear. What's most remarkable is that each reference image appears to be infused with new life and a completely new meaning.
