My name is Svetlana Tereshenko, but for my shop I use my nickname – Polarys.
I`m from Chernihiv - the old beautiful city in the north of Ukraine.
But let me tell you about what I`m doing.
I could tell about my family - everyone of it has a talent, and since I remember myself I had tryed knitting, crochet, macrame, embroidery, even woodburning, making something of sea shells and fabric flowers making - I made it but nothing longer a year or two so finally I dropped it all.
But one day about 8 or 9 years ago I came to a second-hand shop and I was impressed by what I`ve seen.
A lot, literally, tones of clothes made of excellent quality fabrics but - given away. It may be good even brand new, but just old fashioned and that`s the reason it will never be used.
And that was it. That`s how I found my way to take care of our planet and make the clothes live again.
By now I`ve remade over 200 kg of clothes, and I feel I`ve just started.
I am a self-tought seamstress, but you can never tell it, because I am the pefrectionist and it helps me to make the bags beautyful, practical and perfect made.
All these bags and purses were trousers, shirts ant t-shirts in previous life. I find them and collect it into absolutely new things using best threads and zippers to make it last longer.
Also, I have a collection of printed t-shirts and my customers can choose one to make it a custom bag.
Every bag takes 3 or more days to sew it. I make it by myself, using two or all three of my sewing machines, and use made by me patterns only.
Buying from my shop you can get really One-Of-A-Kind bag (many of my bags are impossible to reply), but - the most important, I think - you can take part in smart reusing and express your point of view, that you care about environment too.
