The Invisible Miracle: I Made An Unusual Photoshoot

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.'' (The Little Prince)
It's an unusual photo shoot from me, I know.
It was a beautiful spring day. I was sitting on the bus heading home when a couple got on the bus; they were my age. And then something strange and awkward happened: most of the passengers turned away their heads and ignored them, just because the couple were blind...
Obviously they wanted to sit next to each other. Finally I told them there was two seats in front of me.
They thanked me, then sat down and immersed into their everyday conversation: work, family, future plans etc.
I kind of spied on them by listening to their chit-chat, while I was admiring the girl's perfect nail polish. I was looking at their facial expressions, and finally their gaze.
I believe for us, who can see, this is the toughest part. Especially for me, when I shoot my pictures, I'm talking through the eyes of both humans and animals. The eyes my friend never lie.
That was the moment when the idea was born. I wanted to bring closer the blind people's everyday struggle. I wanted to understand them more and show to everyone that they are the same as us, just a little bit different.
So I had to get in contact with The National Institute for the Blind in Budapest in 2014. I spent two days with them and will always be grateful.
Open your eyes and your heart for something different.
