Every Autumn marks the beginning of my favourite time of year - fungi season. Mushrooms, toadstools, slime moulds, puffballs, brackets, earth stars and many more all show their sleepy heads, waking up after a long summer of dormancy.
Purple, green, orange, pink, red, yellow, blue and all combinations of colours show vividly against the brown leaves and wood that fungi rely on to grow, transforming a routine stroll through the bush into a wonderland experience.
