How would you make your summer unforgettable for your whole life?
Many people would like to travel as much as possible. My boyfriend and I are not the exception. We’ve met while we're traveling, so it became more than just a hobby for us. Every summer we were exploring new countries by hitchhiking. Usually, these journeys lasted about a month. When we were planning a vacation this summer, we realized that we wanted to visit too many places and we didn’t have enough money for this and even enough time.
We had a dream to visit 50+ places in Europe during summer (because Ukrainians can travel in Schengen Area no more than 90 days). It seemed almost impossible. But we did it!
13 000 km by hitchhiking, 15 countries, 85 days. Sometimes it was really hard, but with each new point on the map, it was becoming more and more exciting.
We were hitchhiking around Iceland for 2 weeks and spent in this extremely expensive country only 70 euros, we’ve reached the northernmost point of Europe – North Cape, we hiked to the tallest active volcano in Europe – Etna and more.
This trip proved us that everything is possible and we should never give up on our dreams. Lack of money, time, travel buddies... are just excuses. If you really want it, you can do it!
