Ukrainian borscht and a buckwheat baguette were launched into the stratosphere. The products have risen to an altitude of 30,000 meters. Moreover, we can observe their flight with the help of the cameras installed onboard the stratosphere balloon.
"Today, the world's richest man, Jeff Bezos, is flying into space. However, the billionaire has no idea that Ukrainian products had visited the stratosphere before he did" - says the organizer of the launch, Director of Marketing for "Silpo" Kateryna Oguryayeva - "The whole planet observes space travels, and now is the best time to tell that Ukrainian borscht is out of this world!"
The stratosphere balloon with Ukrainian products onboard lifted at a speed of 6 meters per second. Therefore, the borscht and the baguette reached the stratosphere in less than an hour and a half.
The launch team members have been preparing for this flight for more than a month. The bowl of borscht and the baguette were securely fastened and tested since the temperatures in the stratosphere range from -75 °C to -45 °C, and the wind speeds reach 200 km/h. Furthermore, the launch was approved by UkSATSE and the optimal weather conditions for the launch were ensured.
Let's recall that a year ago borscht was officially recognized as a Ukrainian dish and included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine. According to the American TV channel CNN Travel, Ukrainian borscht was also recognized as one of the twenty best soups in the world.
