I Gave Two Rescues A Well Deserved Beach Day (39 Pics)

Ginnie and Garnet are two rescues that have had a rough couple of years.

Ginnie, a boxer mix, spent the first year of her life neglected; chained outside a property without a dry place to stand. Confiscated and then taken to a high-kill shelter, Ginnie was scheduled to be euthanized before Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue scooped her up and assigned her a foster. She would then spend 6 months in foster care with limited interest from potential adopters.

Garnet, a lab mix, was one of many dogs rescued by the Old Dominion Human Society from the floods caused by Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. Consequently, suffering from anxiety, Garnet struggled to adjust to her new home before unexpectedly becoming diagnosed with two cruciate tears and immune-mediated polyarthritis.

Today, Garnet and Ginnie are adopted sisters living in Florida with parents Lauren and Jacob Greeno, and siblings Gendry and Gigi.

Garnet is now 10 weeks post-op after having her knees repaired via TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy), and Ginnie is celebrating 8 months with her new adoptive family.

The Greeno’s have spent the last few months devoted to rehabilitating and doting on the girls, providing them with everything they need to heal and adjust.

With their most recent move from Virginia to Florida, the Greeno’s decided that after all the girls had endured they deserved a beach day!

Since it was Ginnies first time at the Beach and Garnet's first big outing since her surgery, Lauren decided to document their day.
