How would you feel if you could see the effect of our actions on the environment in vivid technicolour?
That's what Cape Farewell's latest commission, which will be unveiled at the Manchester Science Festival next month, will do.
Cloud Crash, by Paris-based artists HeHe, depicts micro-climates, pollution and artificially engineered clouds in provocative new contexts, blurring the boundaries between the natural and the man-made and bringing atmospheric science powerfully to life.
The works include a crashed car filled with clouds depicting the very fumes that - were the car operational - it would pump out into the atmosphere, and the Tate Modern's tower wreathed in vapour clouds.
These artworks complement NERC’s ‘Into The Blue’ campaign, a series of showcase events in the North West throughout October that celebrate the environmental science we live and breathe.
The exhibition opens on October 20.
