At one point in walking through the streets of this beautiful, green and clean city of Ljubljana, a thought striked my mind. Why not make a video about it! But then I had a very peculiar problem: I did not want it to be a classical video that would make people fall asleep watching it, and since I love photography I decided to do something I haven't done before.
I'm going to make a timelapse and hyperlapse video!
Damn straight son. After this decision was made, I contacted the higher buildings in Ljubljana in order to get access to rooftops so I'd have a great view of the city. That ended in disappointment since they either just ignored me or wanted money from me. However since I did not plan paying anyone for a free project, I went and did it the old fashioned way and that was on foot.
This project took me 6 months and more than 25.000 photos, some of which I didn't even use in the end. I had to learn a new program on my computer and how to make timelapse video, as my first few attempts ended a bit poorly. Apparently when making a timelapse or a hyperlapse video on foot, you need to make small smaaaaall little steps in order for the footage to be smooth once converted into a video.
After it was done with hundreds of hours spent on driving, photographing, creating a video from pictures and then editing the entire video, I felt both relieved and sad that it was finally over. That said, I hope you'll enjoy watching it and that it will perhaps make you consider visiting Ljubljana, the capital city of a small country Slovenia!
Thank you for reading (and watching)
