Here is my Daddy's story about how I came into this world:
The beginning
Four years ago, just before getting married, my now wife and I decided to have a baby before getting married. The reason for this being that she is a Type 1 Diabetic, and we didn’t want to cause any health complications when trying for a baby further down the line.
After a year and a bit of trying, we went to see fertility specialists, who then told us that we were unable to have children. We decided at that time that we would not investigate whether it was me or her that was the “problem”, so as not to cause friction later on in life.
After much emotional turmoil, and working through and coming to terms with the fact that we were unable to have children, we got married, and started our married lives together with our 3 fur children, stronger than ever.
The inconceivable
Two years into our marriage, my wife came to my work crying. I rushed out, thinking the worst (having had two deaths in the family recently). She had taken a pregnancy test, and starting waving it around, me not knowing what the two lines mean, she shouts, “We are pregnant”!
Early on during the pregnancy, we realized that it wasn’t going to be an easy pregnancy (not that I think pregnancies are easy). From the third month, we had to go to the obstetrician for weekly checkups because baby wasn’t growing at the pace that he should be.
Six months into the pregnancy, weighing 760grams, it was time for our little baby to come out into this world.
The miracle
Our little miracle was born on 25 October 2017, 760 grams, 33cm long with a head circumference of 25cm. All of this might not mean much to you, but just look down to your forearm, that was basically the size of our little miracle, from tip to toe.
Having gone through a very stressful 3 months at hospital, a lot of doubts, disbelief, amazement, gratefulness, tears, joy, we finally got to take our little miracle home, weighing a healthier 2.1 kg.
The unprepared
Being completely unprepared, including on an emotional level, we had no idea what to do with our new baby. We had no room that he could call his own, no idea how to look after him, and definitely no idea of how much sleep would be lost. We treasure each and every moment with him, just scroll up and look at his photo again, how can you not love that precious little face.
Having being told that we were unable to have children, we had set our lives up in a certain way, and as you can well imagine, we had not prepared financially for the expenses of a baby, let alone the expenses to educate our little one.
The reason
Being a mostly prepared person in life, I am asking for your generosity, to help me prepare for our little boy’s future, with your donations and giving heart, it would allow me a bit of time to save up for his future and education, taking a bit of the burden off initially. I’ve heard over and over again, it takes a village to raise a child – living in the 21st century, you guys are my village.

Hello world!

This is how little I was in the beginning.

This is me holding my mom's hand.

Look at me now!

Comfy little sheep.

I'm still a bit small for my graduation suit.
