The SOUND JEWELRY project proposes a set of rings which are designed by taking into account the voice of a person. The most iconic rings are reinterpreted in an innovative way: an audio track is processed as a three-dimentional geometry which is applied on the shape of a selected jewelry. Every audio sample is analyzed as a spectrogram, the precise visual representation of the full spectrum of sound frequencies. All the items produced in this project are therefore unique as they visually reflect a virtually unrepeatable sound pattern.
Anyone can nowadays record his or her voice: from smartphones to laptops, passing through some more precise and professional microphones, recording devices are everywhere available and do not require advanced skills to be used. Might it be the voice of your beloved one, a child’s first words, the barking of your dog, the meow of your cat or your bird’s singing, every audio input can be taken into consideration and processed to create a SOUND JEWELRY ring. The inclusion of a highly personal dimension within an object such as the voice is a poetic strategy that allows a deep emotional bounding between the object and the person wearing it. The collection is directly available in sterling silver but it can also be customized by using other materials such as gold or platinum.
