Photographer and art director Luke Nugent is the author of "EMANCIPATE", a project that celebrates the beauty and diversity of Afro hair.
To compose his project, he invited black models with different hair styles to mix the references between beauty, fashion and attitude, leaving a message about the importance of valuing and celebrating black beauty in photos that are pure inspiration.
Often he cooperates with hairdresser and stylist Lisa Farrall, a reference in the area of hairstyles and Afro style. In 2017, for example, he won first place in three different categories of the Black Hair Award.
The photographer studied photography at the University of Greenwich in London and has been a professional photographer since the late teens, creating material for a variety of commercial and editorial campaigns focusing on fashion, portraits and music.
