Having a two year old son who is obsessed with anything with wheels has a distinct advantage. I get the opportunity to take pictures of things I wouldn't normally think to visit. I took my Leica M9 along to Heaton Park in Manchester and spent the day photographing the men who drive trams.
All of the tram drivers, ticket collectors and other staff of the Heaton Park Tramway are volunteers and give up hours of their time to restore and preserve historic trams. Manchester trams, Blackpool trams and even a few model trams. Their passion for the tramway makes for a magical day out through the picturesque landscape of Heaton Park from the gates to the boating lake.
