The Life And Times Of A Tripod Pirate

The power of saving a dog from a rescue.

The Best Day of My Life!

He was abandoned in the night drop box of a pound, missing his front left leg. He was pulled in the nick of time by Family Dog Rescue in SF. They drove +/- 12 hours round trip to save him! He was adopted and returned before he came into my life. He was pretty defeated and had seemed to have given up. :(

One month later, his first camping trip!

Within the first couple of weeks, he was already coming around. On this trip, I discovered he loved water. Then I had to take off my shoes and go after him when he decided to crash the party in some strangers campsite. Lol!

Petey's First (and last) Photo Shoot, 1 year later.

Around the time of this shoot, they were hiring at the rescue I got him from. I wrote all about this beautiful beastie in my cover letter and I got the job! At least I think that is why they hired me! ;)

RIP Dread Pirate Petey 2/14/08 - 12/11/13

Sadly, Petey was diagnosed with kidney disease a year after I adopted him. He defied all the odds and lived 364 days past a less than a year diagnosis. Without treatment, he would have made it three months (which is what the vet estimated anyways, but Petey was a tripod pirate bad ass) I had some of his ashes put in this tattoo. My good friend drew it, and our other good friend inked me up. This is "Gonzo Petey."
RIP, my beastie.
