You could say I've downsized. I've gone from painting murals and large canvases, to plucking hairs from my brushes in order to paint teeny-tiny portraits on pennies.
Why? I think art should be unique, yet personal to each person, and what is more personal and close to someone's heart than their furry friends?
Not only am I now selling art, but art that is wearable and sharable. (yes, artists are also poets...LOL)
I guess you can say my priorities have shifted. I started painting with the same dream so many artists have, the one of gallery showings and constant praise, along with a hefty paycheck. But now, I've realized that making others happy with such a tiny painting brings more joy than an impersonal canvas shipped to an unkown buyer.
I think we all need to reach down a little deeper and find contentment in what we do. I'm so glad I did!
