Food photographer Olena Smyrnova creates worlds and populates them with ... shrimps. The history of the Dolce Vita series begins in 2019. Then the first photos were taken with the main character - a shrimp, which leads a bright life, travels and rests.
All photos in the series are accompanied by a backstage of filming, so the photographer proves to the viewer that everything is happening for real, there is no photoshop, no editing. "Everything is decided by the light, the right angle and the right lens," says the author. Olena collects all the details of the interior herself or takes from her daughter among the toys.
Once, the shrimp even managed to collaborate with a clothing designer and participate in an advertising campaign for the brand. "Photos with her always attract attention in the feed, so customers are always happy to dilute the feed in social networks with a picture with a shrimp in the interior," says Olena.
She also advertised a cocktail bar. "For the promotional photo in the bar, I sewed an exact replica of the green velvet sofa - the symbol of that local bar," says the author.
In the spring of 2019, photos from Dolce Vita's Olen Smyrnova series were shortlisted for the prestigious Pink Lady Food Photographer Award contest for food photographers. This inspired Elena to continue filming her favorite in new and new scenery.
Well, as you understand, the shrimp leads a real dolce vita.
