This drawing was inspired by the book of the same title by Sam Mirza (1517 - 1566), a Safavid prince (present day Iran). I just found the title so compelling and wanted to place my star catcher girls (girls personifying celestial objects) in this scene, wondering what would happen when two stars meet. The framing and pattern in the background is inspired by the arches and tiles found in Safavid architecture. Pen and ink on paper (and some bits digital), about 10 hours.
