This is purr-fect, Catfest has everything your kitty-loving heart desires: cute, adoptable cats and kittens, feline stars, cool stuff for the cats in your life or for yourself at Beckenham Place Mansion. The Palladium-style setting in a leafy park is the grandest setting south of the river.
Since its 2018 debut after two sell-out shows, Catfest is now a weekend festival. Hear talks from bestselling authors, cat experts and wildlife photographers. Diana Darke (The Last Sanctuary in Aleppo), John Rendall (Christian the Lion) and TV star Rory the Vet are among the highlights.
See the cat art show, have a go making sparkly cat ears or catnip mice at the crafts workshops, shop for cool and quirky accessories from 50+ exhibitors and feast on vegan street food, cat-themed cats and cocktails.
The likes of Sun Glass Cat, an Instagram star from Los Angeles with over half a million followers, along with other influencers supermodel Starina, jet-setting adventure cats Quita kitty, Pixie Adventure Cat, Barry the Bengal, Maine coon kitty Arlo and the Travelling Menagerie will be meeting fans.
At the Meow Parlour adoption lounge, housed in two ballrooms, meet and play with some 35 kittens and cats up for adoption from Wales, Morocco and Qatar.
“The best thing about Catfest is that it helps cats in desperate need,” says Anne Heslop, the founder of the festival’s beneficiary charity ERHAM Rescue.
Catfest was created out of love for cats and last summer's festival enabled the charity to sterilise, treat, feed and rescue hundreds of street cats and kittens in Morocco and home dozens in the UK.
