When you visit Washington Square Park in Manhattan New York you can't miss two very special characters, Larry and Paul. Michal Hess, a street photographer from NYC, spent time with them, took their photos and heard their stories.
Paul used to own his own small business for 11 years, and when it bankrupt he found solace in the company of the pigeons of the park, which he visits and feeds daily, rain or shine.
His friend Larry was in prison for many years, for men slaughter, after he killed the person who murdered his wife and kid in 1986. The pigeons are what's keeping him normal, and help him interact with people.
