The Alchemist is an American record producer praised for his gritty sample-heavy soundscapes. He has served as a primary sonic architect for major rap acts while continually pushing the boundaries of underground hip-hop culture.
He first gained widespread notice crafting landmark beats for the influential rap duo Mobb Deep. Joint albums like Alfredo later earned critical accolades and a prestigious Grammy Award nomination.

Raised in Beverly Hills, California, Alan Daniel Maman grew up in an artistic household. His father emigrated from Israel, and young Maman quickly developed an intense passion for rebellion, urban art, and hip-hop music.
He attended Beverly Hills High School while writing lyrics and forming early rap groups. Collaborating with childhood friend Scott Caan in The Whooliganz soon sparked his transition from rapping to mastering audio production techniques.
Notable Relationships
Over the past three decades, the producer has maintained a remarkably understated personal life. His most public connections remain his enduring artistic brotherhoods with rap icons like Prodigy, Havoc, and Evidence.
The musician resides in Southern California and focuses his energy on family and creative output. He shares a close personal bond with fellow producer Oh No, with whom he routinely collaborates on record releases.
Career Highlights

He later founded ALC Records to distribute limited instrumental vinyl releases directly to fans. The independent label expanded his brand while he simultaneously served as the official touring disc jockey for Eminem.
