Wildfires Caused This Surreal B&w Of The Sun

A wildfire and exceptional winds are to blame for this image. It was a few days ago that Kansas had experienced the biggest wildfire in its history. The edge of this fire is around a two hour drive from where I this photo. The high winds increased the intensity and blew ashes and smoke for many miles.
I was completely unaware of this.
Then I stepped outside and smelled fire. My eyes began to burn a bit as I looked out and saw haze. But when I went to my car I noticed the bright orange glow of the sun.
I grabbed my camera.
While taking pictures I wondered what this might look like in black and white, and when I saw the results I was more than happy.
I provided a color version and half color version so you can put together how this image came to be in black and white.
