On this week’s very special episode of #headshouldersinkandbones, we visit the @fieldmuseum & encounter the largest, most well preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex ever discovered, Sue!

It has always been a dream of mine to see her in person so there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to see & draw her while I was in Chicago for @wizardworld. Sue is a beast measuring a whopping 42 feet in length & 13 feet tall at the hips. Her skull alone weighs over 600 pounds! Scientists estimate that she had a bite force of more than 13,000 pounds, or the weight of 13 grand pianos! Sue is easily my favorite Tyrannosaurus skeleton alongside AMNH 5027 (the skeleton referenced for the Jurassic Park T-Rex) & well worth the visit if you’re ever in the area. Plus, that museum is insane! You easily need a whole day just to enjoy what it has to offer.
