Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. A pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China was first reported to the WHO Country Office in China on 31 December 2019.
Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. The virus spreads from person to person in an airborne manner. Observations show that the virus is now transmitted to people who have been in close contact with the infected person (being within 2 meters of each other).
One of the most important and effective ways to deal with the virus is to prevent it, according to the WHO recommendation, part of that is self-isolation.
So, to help country to overcome this tough period, Association of Communication Agencies of Georgia held print contest that encourages self-isolation and calls on people returning from travel to stay in an isolated environment, thereby helping to stop the spread of the virus.
