My Spirit Animals To Help With Anxiety, Depression And Overwhelm

We all struggle at some point. Most of the people who are attracted to the Vanillery Garden are highly sensitive, intuitive and empathetic with a deep connection to nature.
With an open heart it is easy to get overwhelmed with all the input. It is necessary to retreat and remember that all that matters is your inner state of being. This is why I make art. To calm down and create a space for myself where I feel safe and relaxed. I found that my art does not only heal me, it does the same for others.
Here are a few of my favorites! You can always find more on my social media channels.

The Deer: Reminder of your dreams and strenghts

The deer revives your spiritual abundance and your ability to bring light into this world. The deer urges you to remain silent in your communication, so you get to receive the true message. Through the deer you develop a sensitivity and patience for the right moment. It lives in peace with everyone around and only fights - fair and just - if absolutely necessary. Let the deer protect your vital force, so you can replenish and rest.

The Owl: Don't be afraid of the unknown

They help us explore the unknown, see what others cannot see and they travel with departed souls. I remember how I sat outside the house when suddenly the streetlight flickered and a huge shadow covered the light. Without a noise a huge owl landed right above my head. It was pure magic. They are such mighty beings in their silence. True masters in their self-awareness.

The Fox: Your attentive, observant, self-aware and funny friend

My favorite animal when I was 10. Intelligent, sly, skilled, attentive, observant, self-aware, funny. The Fox Village in Japan is on my bucket list.

The Mouse: Messenger between conscious and subconscious

The mouse gives awareness of yourself and your surroundings. It's a collector and keeper of information until they are needed. Under the guidance of the mouse you'll learn to camouflage and hide yourself, so that you can easily slip away from anything dark and negative.

The Rabbit: Your sensitivity is a blessing!

Very paradoxical, they embody both intuition and fear. Rabbits advise you to check your energy and the vibe you are sending out. Since they are so closely linked to the moon, they show you a healthy way to live with your sensitivity, but also advise you to stay calm. Rabbit medicine is very positive, teaching us about kindness, love, abundance and a warm home. Listen to your intuitive message and you need not fear.

The Fennec Fox: Ah, the easy-going friend we all long for.

Playful, light-hearted, these creatures have a very easy-going nature. They are shy, but they tease the ones they love. The fennec fox is a jokester, always up to have fun. They are able to pull you out of a funk within a blink.

The Eurasian Jay: Everyone is family, nobody gets left behind.

I've had a very close connection to this bird since childhood. They are playful, daring, beautiful, clumsy, intelligent and very caring of their family (which isn't necessarily bloodline but rather soul family). I'm so looking forward to winter, where they come to my garden for food.

The Ferret: A good companion to have around in hard times

The ferret can aid you to uncover a hidden part of yourself. The weasel is skillful and quick, it is a good companion to have around in hard times. It is your power animal when you need a special place to rejuvinate and contemplate.

The Turtle: Helps you master your mind and emotions

She connects the elements water and earth. The turtle teaches you to master your mind, your emotions and your body while leading you into the realm of your soul. With the turtle as your guide, you will learn about patience, introspection and persistence. Easy does it.

Someone to watch over you while you rest and rejuvinate

Every now and then you can snatch an original for your home, sacred space, workplace or anywhere you feel you need a little friend by your side to make it through.

Art is my meditation, the place where I feel safe
