Magbulb, a product that completely changes the ritual of replacing a lightbulb, launched a Kickstarter campaign on December 2.
Magbulb is a unique solution that turns once tedious, routine and oftentimes dangerous process into a fun moment. Beginning with December 2, the project starts its Kickstarter campaign. Those who appreciate the Magbulb’s true value can back it, bring it to life and make things easier for everyone.
Magbulb is a plastic adapter that consists of two parts. One part is screwed into the lamp holder instead of a light bulb just once and the other part is simply attached to a light bulb. The product is made of fireproof non-combustible plastic and is compatible with all E2627 bulbs and sockets. Magbulb uses heat-resistant neodymium magnets with an increased operating temperature range and a constant magnetic field.
Traditionally, a light bulb replacement demanded two hands, a ladder and a considerable amount of concentration. Also, the procedure required a high degree of caution. A significant percentage of medical cases is attributed to incidents with people on ladders: many get severely injured, and some cases are fatal. An additional threat comes from unsafe practices with electricity. There is a high chance of being electrocuted.
Other than pure fun, Magbulb provides safety. Using only one hand for tossing a new bulb in the air, the task excludes a dangerous element once and for all.
The necessity to replace a light bulb has always been related to inconvenience: it is always a bad time and wrong moment. On average, the chain of actions would take from 10 to 15 minutes if not more. With Magbulb, it’s one second. One snap and the light goes on again.
“It’s been 141 years since Thomas Edison made one of the most significant inventions of the XIX century. During this time, humanity has made a lot of breakthroughs, however, we somehow screw those lightbulbs. It’s high time to move forward and use science to make things easier on a daily basis”, — says Magbulb team.
Getting a bulb cap in the right place does not necessarily happen right away: it takes some precision. And unfortunately, a lot of people lose this ability due to medical conditions. As a result, a task which is routine for ones is actually painful or impossible for others — people with arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease or other ailments that impede motor skills. A product addresses these issues, and people are no longer challenged.
Beyond convenience, rapidity, and safety, Magbulb is all about accessibility and making life easier for everyone.
