Built By Basil
Creating unique pieces from Canadian Maple skateboard veneer. I glue them up in our homemade hydraulic press, turn them on our CNC lathe and polished with a hard wearing finish.
Each gear shift knob is one of a kind, finished to fit the car.
It took three months of planning with trials and errors to make my first gear shift knob that I was happy with. Now I can make one in around 2 hours.
Once I got the design right, I started to experiment by adding different materials to give them an even more unique look. For example, a strip of metal in the middle. I will continue to try variety of styles. And am currently trying copper and brass.
