We spoke to the cartoonist and asked him a few questions about his series. We were curious to know how George first got inspired to start creating comics and to learn more about his creative process. The artist shared that it all began with “reading Mad, Cracked, and Crazy magazines back in the ’80s,” which sparked his interest in the genre and motivated him to start making his own creations.
When asked about the creative process behind his work, Webster offered a behind-the-scenes look and explained how he typically comes up with ideas for new cartoons: “I draw from simple every day life happenings and sometimes go astray.”
Following that, the cartoonist opened up about the artists who have had a significant impact on his style and creative approach, sharing which peers and inspirations he holds in high regard: “Farside in my early years. Nowadays, I get inspiration from building on my previous work.”
Finally, George revealed which piece from his body of work stands out as his personal favorite so far, noting that while he has a few cartoons he likes, they’re often not his most popular. “It’s all in the eye of the beholder, I guess,” he added.
