The lucky owner of this cottage in Norway just happens to be me. I have spent five years turning it into something out of a fairytale.
Norway, known for it´s beautiful nature and for being among the happiest countries in the world, also have a long history of building log homes with turf roofs. "The Fairytale Cottage of Norway" is one of them, and this one takes you out of the ordinary and into a magical world where anything is possible, like getting engaged! (Last new years eve an Airbnb couple got engaged here.)
Up to 14 people can sleep here and breathe in the fresh, clean air and experience the quietness of the forest. Family and friends can enjoy some e.g. Norwegian waffles around the long table on the terrasse. In the wintertime the two fireplaces not only bring a special good kind of warmth, but also serve as a place to make those delicious s´mores.
The garden has a lot of different plants e.g. wild blueberries and apples, and you can find and cut your very own Christmas tree here and bring into the living room and decorate together with the family.
In the basement is a one of a kind rustic bathroom with a wooden bathtub that has been used for three generations. The sink is an old wooden tray.
Animals like moose, deer, fox and squirrels live in the area, which is in a popular holiday home area with many hiking paths. The area is close to Norway´s capital Oslo. It takes only 5 minutes (by car) to one the beaches of the Oslo fjord where one can fish, surf, swim etc.
