Industrial designer Tamara Orjola has forged a sustainable vegan material called 'Forest Wool' which she makes from pine needles.
Orjola created Forest Wool upon learning that pine trees are the most common source of timber in the world and that the timber industry lets the byproduct, pine needles, go to waste.
Currently Orjola uses the pine needles to create paper, textiles, stools, carpets and more - all biodegradable and compostable.
