Christopher David Hynes doesn’t shop for art supplies; he hunts for them in junkyards. Using scrap metal, clay, and discarded machine parts, he builds lifelike animal sculptures that feel both powerful and fragile.
By mixing hard metal with soft clay, Hynes shows the tension between nature and industry. His animals look as if they’re caught mid-movement, part living creature, part machine, raising questions about what we’re losing and what we leave behind.
