Save The Kittens

Hundreds of thousands of kittens are euthanized in shelters every day, not because shelters want to euthanize them, but due to lack of staff, supplies, and public awareness. However, this does not mean that we should attack these shelters and refuse to support them. People hear "kittens are being killed", and immediately assume that people in these 'kill shelters' enjoy killing animals. In reality, people in these shelters are just as upset about the issues as you are, and people working in a municipal shelters have the highest suicide rates of any job. These people love animals, and they clearly do not want them to die. Shelters need public support in order to save kittens. It's not that shelters don't want to save kittens, it's just that they can't. But you can. It's up to us to support all shelters, and all cat populations. Even if the shelters can care for them, a shelter is not a safe place for a vulnerable, imunnocoprimised neonatal kitten. But your home is. Fostering saves lives, and every day people like you can make a huge difference with a little knowledge and a whole lot of compassion.
