People don't bother if exam is coming, if belly is coming, if cycle is coming. People care for the cycle is coming as much as Bill Gates care for the rise in price of potato. If you are riding a cycle, people will come on the way as if cycle won't hit them but hug them. If you used to say riding a cycle, stop saying that, better say walking a cycle, they don't consider cycle as a vehicle. They won't consider until cycle comes and hit them in their ball. The respect of cycle on the road is same as respect of Kejriwal in politics, just that people don't throw ink and shoes on cycle. They don't have any respect for cycle, they consider cycle as a housefly they don't have to bother. While crossing the road they will stop only if bike is coming, if four wheeler is coming or if potty is coming. If you are riding a cycle, people will come on your way more frequently than Benchod comes in mouth of Delhi people. People while crossing the road are like, they will check both side, if from one side crow is coming they will let that crow pass, then again they will check and if from one side cycle is coming, they will call their relatives also to come on the way.
