When someone gets cheated on, it immediately shatters their trust in their loved ones because of the betrayal they’ve faced. They might also question their self-worth and feel less confident in other relationships. This shift in their bonds and self-esteem can be hard to deal with and take a lot of time to come to terms with.
Post-infidelity folks might also struggle with anxiety and always be on edge for deception from folks they’ve even known for a long time. That’s because the brain and body might stay in fight-or-flight mode until they truly know they are safe again.

Nobody who’s ever been the victim of cheating wants to deal with the trauma of it forever. Eventually, everyone wants to move on and possibly date again or build trust in their relationships. That’s why folks need to spend time understanding their feelings after being cheated on, and to get support as soon as possible.
Talking about the issue and the emotions that come with it can help release stress and reduce anger and resentment. It can also slowly put them on the path to self-care, which can make them feel happier, lighter, and more joyful.

Cheating is the worst thing to do to a loved one, which is why all of these silly excuses fall flat and seem so meaningless. They make absolutely no sense because the cheater hasn’t owned up to their behavior or taken responsibility for their horrible actions. Once that happens, instead of all the justifications, the victim might feel a sense of peace.
What do you think is the worst excuse a cheater can give? We’d love to hear your examples and perspective on this post.
