I adapted a 1901 novel into a new all-ages graphic novel called House of the Queerbodies, and the fantastic artist Robin Richardson is bringing it to life. We found the perfect art style to tell this story with, and it all started with designing Ellen, our main character.
Robin started by redrawing Ellen in their own unique style, based on the original illustration in As the Goose Flies by Katharine Pyle. Then, Robin drew on their experience growing up in Malaysia to design a new version of Ellen.
