OMG.
I live in a smaller PNW logging town. I was literally telling my kid about this the day before yesterday. Then yesterday morning we were sitting in the front yard googling it more (it scared him so I was trying to give him more details of story origins and stuff to de-spook it).
I kid you not, in the middle of doing that, we both heard the weirdest noises from my front woods. We crept up into the edge of the forest and could HEAR CRASHING AND MOVING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US and every time we turned our heads it STOPPED and then started again a few seconds later in a new place.
Now he's mad at me for making him scared of the woods. But it was legit creepy. So creepy!!!!
