I have a bonded cat pair (mother and daughter). They love each other deeply for the most part but lately I catch them in a weird standoff sometimes. They will sit in opposite corners of the apartment and just stare at each other.
One drama that has been going on since I got them is that mommy always comes to sit in my lap. Daughter comes later to steal the lap spot by [sitting] on mommy which prompts mommy to leave.
