Panda8 is our new company designing quality, affordable hand designed leggings, is set out to break all the rules of social norms, but embrace all community and individuals through our superpowers in leggings. First stop on the Social Rules Breaking Train is ‘Real Men Wear Leggings’.
Matthew Bagshaw, designer and one half of Panda8’s founders, wore leggings pretty much every day for 18 months. If you ask him why the general response will be “Because ninja’s can’t ninja in normal people pants”. And who can argue really? Most of us are all too familiar with the restrictive pulling of denim and those dress pants riding up into places that pants should never enter.
Since Panda8 unleashed their awesomeness on Etsy in September 2016, our collection has grown to 14 designs, ranging from vintage video games, nerdy pop culture & idiosyncratic themes involving animals, cartoons and Tea-Rex’s. And while our designs are out of the ordinary so are our models!
Panda8’s latest shoot took place at Village Brewery in Calgary and features our good friend and Village Quality Assurance Manager, Jeremy McLaughlin as a model, Michael Hatton, gear head and motor bike enthusiast and of course, Bagshaw. This shoot defies what every other leggings and active wear company is currently doing. It goes against who society thinks should and shouldn’t wear leggings. What society tells us to think is ‘cool’. And why? Well, why not??? We all should be able to ninja when we want to ninja!
