With the latest season of hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones, due to premiere on TV, laptop, tablet and smartphone screens on 16 July, online smartphone retailer, Mobiles.co.uk, has created three fake online conversations between characters, to help remind fans of some of the biggest plotlines from season six. Can you remember what happened next?
The creation of these new ‘Smart Thrones’ group chats follows research by Mobiles.co.uk which reveals the scale of worldwide fandom: the number of new viewers since Series One (5.9 million1) is bigger than the population of Singapore (5.6 million population).
Andrew Cartledge, mobile expert at Mobiles.co.uk said: “With an estimated $360 million spent on producing broadcasted episodes so far, and a 197% increase in viewers since Series 1, it’s safe to say we’ve got GoT fever.
“We thought it would be fun – and pretty important given the many twists - to remind people of plotlines from season six, so we’re all ready for 16 July. Sure, there is a bit of creative license, but this is what we would like to imagine would happen if the characters could chat online.”
