With Pride Month already in full swing, we are contributing to the occasion with a list of all things rainbow, courtesy of the “Rainbow Everything” subreddit. From multicolored cakes to animals and hair, we invite you to scroll down and perhaps find inspiration for your own Pride Month celebrations!
While you're at it, don't forget to check out a conversation with the subreddit's creator, who kindly agreed to tell us more about it.

We were lucky enough to get in touch with the creator and one of the moderators of this vibrant subreddit, nicknamed u/scaffelpike, who told us that what inspired its creation was her love for bright, colorful things.
“Rainbows make me happy, so I thought, ‘Why not make an entire subreddit of them where everyone can add some awesome things I would probably never see on my own?’” she said.

No surprise here, but her house is also filled with many rainbow things. I imagine it probably resembles the subreddit itself, only in physical form. “Paintings, rugs, vases, even a musical lectern,” she lists. “The rug is probably my favorite," she fondly shares with us.
Even though the colors of the rainbow are largely associated with the LGBTQ+ community, the subreddit usually isn’t welcoming things related to it. It’s supposed to be a place where such colorful things can be enjoyed without any societal connotations—just colors and how they can make people happy

However, Pride Month is an exception. “We do have a rule stating this isn’t a pride sub. Nothing against pride at all, but there are plenty of other subs for that. During pride month, though, we totally let that slide, after all, it is their month to celebrate,” says the creator.
U/scaffelpike hopes that this page fosters a sense of community so people don’t think they’re the only ones loving rainbow things. “I grew up as the weird kid 'cause I always wore bright rainbow colors, and in my very insular world, I thought it was just me. Here everyone can openly celebrate their love of colours and know there are plenty more rainbow people out there!”

As a society, we have assigned many meanings to these 7 colors that constitute a rainbow. From awe to joy to acceptance and peace. Such behavior falls under the term color symbolism, and, as Maggie Wilson, reiki master teacher and host of The Metaphysical AF Podcast, explained, "Colors are symbolic for people because they influence everything from our moods to our decisions to even how we think."
