Puppy Dog Snuggles And Color Pencils = Perfect Script For Stress Relief

For several years, I have been painting pet portraits and drawing personalize sketches for friends and family on Facebook. These paintings allowed me to combine to great loves....Art and Dogs.

On day, after drawing a cute dachshund in a zentangle style, a facebook friend said, that it would make a great coloring book page....it was all the rage.

I didn't really understand because like many of us, I left those coloring days in my youth.

But everyone remembers sitting at the kitchen table with an opened coloring book and a box of waxy crayolas. Back when everything was innocent, and bright....when you didn't worry about bills or loved ones.

Fast forward to today....the world is pretty fast paced and there seems no end to it.

I guess that is were the appeal to coloring books comes from....a moment of peace that we can relive again.

Another way I get a moment of peace is everyday when I come home....I am always greeted with a happy face, waggin' tail and wet kisses....my dogs....angels with fur.

Then I drew up a tattoo design featuring the likeness of a friends dog in a zen-like, mandala style....and BOOM...I was hooked. I loved this style...so I began to study more styles of art and history...and gradually developed my own twerked version of zentangles wrapped around cute doggies...and even cats!

I think that I have crated something beautiful from two subjects...and love that people get it.....and want to collect and color my illustrations.

Currently, there are coloring books for dachshunds, pugs, labradors, yorkies and pitbulls. I have a book of cats and am working on developing more books for different breeds.
