Unknown people are reawakened in my pictures based on photographs from bygone time. These people actually existed at one time - having experienced various events that were captured with a photo - but memory of them has been extinguished. What has remained are images of them, found in boxes and many other things.
I create worlds in which these old protagonists are assigned a new role. Out of these situations my works representatively deal with the question of conceptualising personal identity:
My works are meant to create a dream-like and at the same time macabre atmosphere, and to encourage the viewer toward reflection.
