Coffee – the only drink that can save a sleepy snoozer from their slumber!
With this as their inspiration, Orange Branding collaborated with ceramics lifestyle brand Dowan to design these sculptural espresso cups that physically portray the energy, excitement and fun caffeine provides which in turn has led to coffee being the second most consumed beverage in the world (after water).
The design process involved developing and testing a variety of concepts around this central theme studying everything from durability, stacking center-of-gravity and the aesthetic effect of the pieces when out on display. “We're always looking to produce designs which people enjoy to use, thus forming a positive emotional connection and long lasting love” said Creative director and founder Lynn. “We knew right away when we started playing with this design that we had to share it!”.
The Dowan Caffeine Cups lean at a slight angle meaning they can be stacked in a variety of ways, providing a creative sculptural form for the kitchen when not in use. Although the stack appears to dance or lean, a rim on the base ensures the ceramics always remain stable in any configuration. They come in 4 different colours made in Dowan’s high quality dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe Porcelain.
