These two stray cats were brought home about a year a go. Everyone in my family loves them very much. We named them Chum (the yellow) and Moc (the grey).
Moc and Chum are tomcats of opposite characters. Moc is gentle, making soft voices while Chum meows loudly whenever he is in need. Moc is distant while Chum is clinging. Chum enjoys the companionship of the people in the house and does not care about strangers while Moc prefers to be alone and avoid meeting new people. Chum is not afraid of confronting other cats or dogs while Moc choses to back off when another cat or dog tends to attack him.
Amazingly, the two cats got along well and quickly became close friends. They were together all the time.
One day, a white cat appeared outside a neighbor’s house. It was lying on top of a party fence wall facing my bedroom window. The three saw each other through the window and they seemed to be quickly engaged in a love relationship.
We all thought that the white cat was a female because they continued to have dates everyday. Our cats were sitting on the windowsill staring at the white cat, meowing affectionately, with fur standing up, tail flicking back and forth restlessly.
Sometimes, they were figting...
Just about one month ago, the white cat broke the hearts of our cats when it stopped visiting. They kept waiting and waiting everyday on the windowsill but the white cat has not come back. Its owner told us her cat had gone missing. What she added really surprised us: the white cat was a male and neutered before he met our cats.
Chum was the one who gave up waiting while Moc seemed to be seriously shattered. He made wailing meows from time to time as if he was missing the white cat very much. He often hurried upstairs to sit on the window and desperately wait for the white cat to turn up.
