An unfamiliar voice was trying to wake me up, but little did I realize that this was the beginning of an incredible adventure that would lead me across the world of Pokémon.
When I first booted up Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I, thankfully, had one of my high school friends guide me through the beginning part of the game to help me get used to the controls on a Nintendo Switch Lite a family member had gotten me for my birthday.
Without going into spoiler territory, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX follows the story of a human who unexpectedly gets transformed into a Pokémon. With their new partner by their side, the human joins a rescue team with their friend to uncover their past while also trying to find their way back home.
I made this series utilizing the stories of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX and The Wizard of Oz because I felt those two stories fit together. I mainly discovered this through their similar plots and a few notable characters that clearly stood out to me. I will not go into who those characters are for spoiler reasons, but I will let you decide which characters they are.
This project started around September 2021 and this venture was a massive undertaking along with work and school. I am so thrilled with the final product and I hope you enjoy our rendition of the Rescue Team DX story.
