The rapper joined the US president at a Republican campaign event in Michigan on Sunday, October 25, where she showed her support for his administration.
But while her political association drew attention, a brief moment involving a flight of stairs got social media users talking for a completely different reason.

Nicki Minaj’s “wobbly” walk up the stairs at Donald Trump’s Michigan rally leaves viewers puzzled
Nicki joined Trump at a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, after traveling to the state aboard Air Force One with the president.
The rapper, who has become an outspoken supporter of Trump, appeared onstage to encourage support for Republican candidates ahead of the November midterm elections.
She wore a gold-toned Gucci outfit featuring a fitted skirt and matching heels.
In a viral clip from the event circulating on social media, Nicki appears to move stiffly and slowly, gripping the handrails for support as she climbs a short flight of stairs to reach the stage.
The footage prompted viewers to question why she seemed to be struggling with the steps.
One post caption on X read, “I’ve never seen someone struggle up 3 steps of stairs.”
Some viewers joked about the rapper’s movements and made ageist remarks, while others suggested her outfit could explain her awkward walk.
“I think her clothes are so f**king tight she can barely move!” one person commented.
From Minaj’s outfit choice to speculation about her backside, people share their wild theories
Another agreed, writing, “Tight skirt and high heels are a nightmare for walking in general, let alone stairs.”
“The way she’s gripping the railings so hard that they’re wobbling,” a third user observed.
“He has found his match! I thought it was an elderly lady,” another joked.
One comment read, “My grandmother has trouble getting up them, but she’s 100 years old.”
Another user said, “Elderly man has to help the young one up the stairs. She walks like she's 50. What's happening?”
Not everyone was convinced that her outfit was the only possible explanation.
“I would struggle, but due to a bad knee, not tight clothes and heels,” one suspicious person wrote.
“Think she’s just arrived straight from having b*tt cheek implants surgery,” one commenter suggested, while another claimed, “Her implants are soooo huge she is off balance.”
Nicki’s appearance at the rally also attracted attention for another reason when Trump made an explicit remark about her backside while addressing the crowd.
The president makes an unexpected comment about Nicki’s backside before inviting her onstage
The president had earlier discussed comments about Republican Senator Jon Husted's physique before turning his attention to the rapper.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before - Nicki Minaj,” Trump told the audience.
He added, “That’s hard to miss,” then asked her to stand up.
The crowd cheered as Minaj rose to acknowledge them.
Trump then seemed to recognize he had strayed from his speech, saying, “Okay, I’m going to get back to my story, I’m sorry.”
He also added, “I hope Nicki wasn't insulted, but we love Nicki. She's been with us for a long time.”
Minaj did not publicly express offense at the remark during the event.
Instead, she used her speech to reiterate her support for the president and the Republican candidates.
“I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again,” she told Trump.
The rapper has spoken openly about past b*tt injections but has not confirmed any recent procedures
The viral video and Trump’s remarks revived speculation about Minaj’s appearance and discussion of her past cosmetic procedures.
Reportedly, in a 2022 conversation on The Joe Budden Podcast, Nicki disclosed that she had received b*tt injections early in her career.
She reflected on the decision and described going to an unqualified person for the procedure as “insane.”
Minaj explained that she had felt insecure about her body while surrounded by the beauty standards prevalent in the music industry at the time.
Later, in a December 2023 interview with Vogue, she discussed her changing perspective on cosmetic procedures and confirmed that she had undergone breast reduction surgery.
“I used to want a bigger b*tt, and now I look back and realize how silly that was,” she said, encouraging women to appreciate their bodies in different shapes and sizes.
However, she has not publicly confirmed that she recently underwent backside augmentation or had implants inserted before the Michigan rally, as some netizens have speculated.
